DRIVER INSTALLATION NOTE
Windows Operating System users should change the adapter's Connection Type property from 'AutoSense' to either
'100BaseFX Full_Duplex' or '100BaseFX' depending on the device being connected to at the other end. For Windows 2000 users,
you should have two (2) Connection Type property values for Full Duplex ('100BaseFX Full_Duplex' and '100BaseFx Full Duplex) and two (2)
for Half Duplex ('100BaseFX' and '100BaseFx') after the above driver has been installed. Although the wording looks the same, they
function differently.
Steps to change the Connection Type property:-
 | Go to Device Manager > Network Adapters |
 | Highlight the 'Intel 21143 based 100FX mbps Ethernet Controller' and choose Properties |
 | Select the 'Advanced' tab |
 | Highlight the 'Connection Type' from the Property list box and change the default value from 'AutoSense' to
 | if the other end is running Full Duplex mode, change the value to '100BaseFX Full_Duplex', or |
 | if the other end is running Half Duplex mode, change the value to '100BaseFX' |
|
If users select an incorrect value (i.e. 100BaseFx Full Duplex or 100BaseFx, note that the letter x is in small cap
and there is no underscore for the word Full Duplex), adapter's performance will be reduced.
These settings don't matter for Windows 2000 with Service Pack 3 or above installed.
